Our Impact in Action

This research investigates the ecological differences among H.wrightii (shoal grass) populations across Florida's coastal ecosystems. By understanding how ecotypes respond to environmental conditions, this study aims to improve restoration strategies and enhance seagrass resilience to climate change.

In collaboration with the Glaspie Lab at Louisiana State University, this innovative program invites recreational and commercial fishers, divers, and coastal residents to report undocumented seagrass beds. By combining community engagement with scientific research, we’re building a comprehensive database to support conservation and restoration efforts.
